Because ChatGPT is conversational, you can write prompts as small briefs rather than keyword strings. Tell it the purpose: 'this is for a job application' or 'this is for a birthday post'. It uses that context to pick sensible defaults for framing and tone, which keyword-style tools ignore.
You can also ask it to explain before editing: 'tell me what you plan to change first.' On an important photo, that one line saves you from surprises.
ChatGPT is cautious with photos of real people, especially children, and with anything that reads as impersonation. Rephrase toward the photographic change ('adjust lighting and background') rather than the person, and keep requests clearly harmless. Some refusals are final, and that is by design.
